Mag. Gisela Kriegler-Kastelic
Gisela Kriegler-Kastelic has been active at the CTL in the area of degree programme quality since 2009. Since 2011, she has been responsible for the projects ‘Online Self-Assessment’ and ‘Test Psychology-Based Application Procedures’. She has several years of corporate experience in management positions. She worked in the areas of process and project management prior to her employment at the University of Vienna, which began in the Bologna Office in 2007. Kriegler-Kastelic studied Psychology at the University of Vienna.
Area of responsibility at CTL: Interim Head, Head of Testing and Examing team, online self-assessments, entrance exam, aptitude test procedures, extension curricula.

MMag. Dr. Sonja Buchberger
Sonja Buchberger has been head of the Faculty Development team at the University of Vienna since 2021. Teaching positions nationally and internationally (UK, CH, D). In 2013 she received her PhD in Social Anthropology from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Prior to that, she studied Arabic and Islamic Studies and International Development at the University of Vienna.
Areas of responsibility at CTL: team leader, development of qualification offers in higher education didactics, scientific coordination of the Certificate course Teaching Competence Plus for experienced teachers, conception and creation of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) on topics of university teaching, editorial member and author in the Infopool better teaching, participation in the UNIVIE Teaching Award, workshop leader and didactic consulting in different areas (further development of own teaching, teaching portfolio & teaching concept, teaching with discussions, teaching scientific reading, diversity-appropriate teaching, feedback).

Dr. Jana Herwig, M.A.
Jana Herwig joined the Digital Teaching team at the beginning of 2022 as a media didactician and (project) coordinator in the production of open educational resources. Her background includes various activities in the online industry (from community management to agency consulting) as well as >20 years of experience in university teaching (e.g. as a teaching assistant for German as a foreign language, as a lecturer for English (CLIL) at a university of applied sciences and most recently as a senior lecturer in media studies at the University of Vienna). Studies completed: M.A. in Theatre, Film and Television Studies, Dutch Philology and Pedagogy (Cologne), PhD in Theatre, Film and Media Studies (Vienna).
Areas of responsibility at CTL: coordination of the OER development work area, project coordinator for MOOCs and media production in teaching, media didactic advice for teachers in the area of digital teaching and learning.

Mag. Angela Knafl
Angela Knafl has been working as an organisational assistant at the CTL since 2014. In addition to office and personnel administration tasks, her duties include editing the handbook for teachers and the CTL website. Angela Knafl studied sociology at the University of Vienna and worked in quality management in the health sector before joining the CTL.

Dr.in Brigitte Römmer-Nossek
Dr. Brigitte Römmer-Nossek is head of the Student Research and Peer Learning team at the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at the University of Vienna. As a cognitive scientist and university didactician, she is concerned with competence acquisition from the perspective of students, teachers and curriculum developers. She is particularly interested in research-based learning, the academic socialisation of students, the role and design of physical and digital spaces, and the potential of interdisciplinarity. As a lecturer, she is currently involved in the master's programme MEi:CogSci as well as in the extension curriculum "Akademische Schreibkompetenz entwickeln, vermitteln und beforschen – Ausbildung von Schreibmentor*innen" ("Developing, teaching and researching academic writing competence - training writing mentors"); she was significantly involved in the conception and curriculum development of both projects. She began her studies in English and Political Science in Vienna and Manchester before studying her self-developed studium irregulare "Brain and Cognitive Sciences". After a period in non-university research and software development, she moved to the University of Vienna in 2004. She is an expert and trainer in scientific writing and has a PhD on scientific writing as a cognitive process and the relationship between writing development and epistemological development.
Areas of responsibility at CTL: Team leader for academic research and writing and peer learning - offers for students (writing mentoring, writing assistance programme, writing workshops); STEOP mentoring.
