In basic training, a distinction is made between two target groups: tutors who provide subject-specific support (so-called “subject tutors”) and study assistants as well as tutors who provide organizational support to teachers, SSC, SPL and/or students.

The basic training workshop "Arriving in the role" for tutors is aimed at tutors who provide subject-specific support to students (e.g. with weekly tutorial units). The basic training workshop "Arrive in the role" for study assistants is aimed at study assistants and tutors who provide organizational support to lecturers, SPL, SSC and / or students.

The following topics will be covered in the workshops:

  • General conditions: Working at the University of Vienna
  • Role and tasks of (subject) tutors and study assistants
  • Communication with different stakeholders at the university (students, course management, SPL)
  • Contact points at the university

Basic training consists of a three-hour workshop as well as preparatory and further materials. After successfully completing the workshop, participants receive a certificate of attendance for the content of the training.
