Posters in Parliament brings Bachelor students together with political decision-makers

30 bachelor students from Austrian universities will have the opportunity to present their research in the Austrian Parliament on December 3, 2025.

Following the conference, the posters will be exhibited for three weeks in the Parliament's Visitor Center and published in UR das Journal.

Bachelor thesis supervisors are warmly invited to accompany the students to the first Posters in Parliament Austria event in December.

The selection process for students at the University of Vienna takes place in two steps

Step 1: Nomination by the teacher

Students who have written or are writing an interesting and (very) good Bachelor's thesis on a topic in the field of sustainability or accessibility/inclusion in the winter semester 2024/25 or summer semester 2025 and are interested in participating can be nominated for the selection process by their lecturers.

The following information must be submitted to pip.ctl@univie.ac.at by September 10, 2025:

  • Category: Sustainability or Accessibility/Inclusion
  • Name and matriculation number
  • Study program
  • Topic of the Bachelor's thesis
  • Abstract of the Bachelor's thesis
  • Name of the supervisor

Step 2: Preparation and selection of students

In the week-long block course “Science communication - presenting your own Bachelor's project” (2 ECTS) in the first week of October (6.10.-10.10.25), students learn how to create a scientific poster based on their Bachelor's thesis and how to communicate their work in a short pitch that is understandable to the public.

At the end of the week, there will be a poster presentation at which the best 15 projects will be selected by an interdisciplinary jury of experts.

Posters in Parliament is funded by the EU as part of the E+project Posters in Brussels.
