Digital Teaching team

The Digital Teaching team is an interdisciplinary team of experts in media didactics, media design, video and audio production, teaching and learning technologies and open educational resources.
The team supports you in realizing your approach to digital teaching in a student-centered way - from the creation of the concept, to the production of different media, to the implementation in the course.
Furthermore, the team supports large and key courses in innovative teaching development and designs the digital teaching and learning environment together with the ZID, E-Learning Unit.

Dr. Jana Herwig, M.A.
Jana Herwigs professional experience encompasses a wide range of activities in the online industry (from community management to agency consulting), together with over 20 years of experience in teaching in higher education establishments (e.g. as a teaching assistant for German as a Foreign Language, an associate professor for English (CLIL) at a university of applied sciences and most recently as a senior lecturer in Media Studies at the University of Vienna). In addition to a M.A. in Theatre, Film and Television Studies, Dutch Philology and Pedagogy (Cologne) and a doctorate in Theatre, Film and Media Studies (Vienna), she also completed the basic education programme of the teacher training at the University of Vienna.

Esmeralda Golubović, BA BSc MA
Esmeralda Golubović Esmeralda Golubović is the coordinator of the e-multiplier program, which includes the administration, the qualification of the e-multipliers and the continuous development of the program. Prior to that, she was responsible for handling the feedback process for the e-multiplier program since 2020. She studied sociology and psychology at the University of Vienna.

Mag. Claudia Hackl
Claudia Hackl advises universities on the institutional anchoring of Open Educational Resources (OER) and is responsible for the transfer of knowledge within and between interested universities. She is also the project manager of “Open Education Austria Advanced” (OEAA), an Austria-wide digitization project. Claudia Hackl focuses strongly on the synergies between Open Education and Open Science. In this context, she develops media didactic qualification and support services for teachers and is involved in the further development of the integrated system landscape for OER at the University of Vienna. She has teaching assignments on OER, research data management support and digital teaching and learning at eastern universities. Her professional background lies at the interface of university didactics, computer science and library science.

Patrick Neueder, MA
Patrick Neueder acts in his role as a media didactic as a mediator between teaching and media production and is responsible for coordinating the production of digital teaching materials, including for iMooX.at. As part of his master's degree in theater, film and media studies and his professional career to date, he has gained valuable experience in the fields of media didactics, e-learning, motion design and digital design, for example in the psychoeducational project PSYDUCATED, which develops comprehension videos to strengthen the health literacy of children and adolescents. In his work, he attaches great importance to a manageable and appealing implementation of digital teaching.

Stefan Wackerlig, MA
Stefan Wackerlig's work focuses on the development and implementation of innovative course formats. This includes the coordination and didactic support of hybrid courses in the Seminarraum der Zukunft as well as advising on the didactically effective use of digital tools in teaching. He is also responsible for the evaluation and further development of the digital teaching and learning tools used at the University of Vienna and the coordination of in-house media production projects. Previously, he gained valuable experience in the field of blended learning and language teaching during his Sinology studies as a tutor and study assistant.

Mario Seidl, BSc
Mario Seidl works as a video producer at CTL and is in charge of the on-site video studio. Before working at the CTL, he designed visual media for brand worlds at the Viennese advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather alongside his business informatics studies (TU Vienna/University of Vienna/JKU Linz) and founded the film production company EXTRASOLARIS in 2010.

Mag. Christoph Winter
Christoph Winter is an instructional designer with a focus on digitally transformed teaching and learning as well as a media didactician and expert in flipped and blended learning. He coordinates the certificate program "Zertifikatskurs Teaching Competence Plus" at the Center for Teaching and Learning and teaches at the Center for Teacher Education and the Department of Evolutionary Biology.
Areas of responsibility at CTL: Digital teaching development with faculties & centers; didactic advice for lecturers in the area of digital teaching and learning; coordination of the “Teaching Competence Plus” certificate course; coordination & support of university teaching projects.
