Booking booths for group work
Do you have a group project ahead of you and need a place to work? Book a booth in Student Space 1, NIG top floor!
A total of eleven booths are available for group work in Student Space 1. Each booth offers 6-8 seats and is separated from the neighboring booths by a partition wall.
The booths can be booked freely between 09:45-16:30 (Fridays until 12:00). Please note that the reservation will be canceled after 15 minutes if it is not used by you
If there are 2 events taking place in the Student Space, no bookings can be made.
Booking modalities
During the semester (course period) you cannot book booths earlier than 10 days in advance. For availability please check the calendar.
- On-site booking: At the CTL Peer Point from 09:00 to 17:00, NIG, Student Space 1.
We cannot guarantee processing of short-term bookings of booths for the same day. - E-mail booking: Send an e-mail to: peerpoint.ctl@univie.ac.at; please specify the desired time slot(s) as specified above and let us know how many seats you need.
We cannot guarantee timely processing if bookings for the next day arrive after 16:30.
Booking a Quietbox
During the semester (course period) you cannot book the quietbox earlier than 10 days in advance. For availability please check the calendar.
- The following time slots are available for booking:
- 09.30 - 11.15
- 11.30 - 13.00
- 13.15 - 14.45
- 15.00 - 16.30
- There is a maximum of 2 successive slots per person

We cannot guarantee timely processing if bookings for the next day arrive after 16:30. - On-site booking: At the CTL Peer Point from 09:00 to 17:00, NIG, Student Space 1.
We cannot guarantee processing of short-term bookings of the quiet box for the same day.
Resources to book in addition
On presentation of a student ID card, you can also book/borrow the following in addition to the booth (if available):
- Whiteboard/pinboard and pen
- Computer with analysis software and large screen (installed programs are SPSS, STATA, R, KNIME, Atlas.ti, Maxqda, Python, Jupyter, Overleaf, Gimp2): The programs can only be used in Student Space 1 in the NIG. You can log in with your u:account - just like on other computers at the University of Vienna. The u:accoun terms of use apply.

At our Peer Point, you can discuss your questions on scientific writing, learning, reading texts and conducting research in a 20-minute walk-in consultation
In addition to their training in writing didactics, the writing assistants at the CTL have different areas of expertise and focus and will always endeavor to provide you with the best possible support.
Important scheduling information
Apart from lecture-free dates (weekends, holidays), the CTL Peer Point is UNOCCUPIED on the following days:
10.12., 16.12., 17.12.
On these dates, the Peer Point is occupied only up till 12:00:
Oktober: 22.10.November: 05.11., 26.11.December: 03.12.January: 07.01., 21.01.
