Basic training for tutors: information for directors of studies (SPL)

Tutorials have a long tradition in supporting university teaching and they help ensure students have a positive study experience. To help tutors become familiar with this demanding activity, the CTL started to offer the basic training course “Tutor*in sein” (Being a tutor) from the winter semester 2020/21.

The aim of this programme is to prepare new tutors – and also tutors with their first experience – for their role at the interface between students and teachers, to reflect on this and to provide them with an initial toolkit for designing their tasks.

Do you want to train your tutors?

With the training for tutors, the CTL supports degree programmes that want to ensure their tutors have qualifications that can be used in the long term. The support offered here comprises:

  • Design and orientation of the training according to the requirements of the degree programme
  • Advice for designing the specialisation
  • Qualification of tutors
  • Evaluation and further development of tutor training.

The preparation time for participation in tutor training is one semester.

Teaching assistants can also register for the basic training for tutors!
